| The wood of the cross said, “Woe to me! what happened to me?” For they crucified on me the Lord of Creation, who made me grow with rain and dew, but I repaid Him with evil. Blessed am I because I carried him, but much woe to those who crucified him. | ܐܶܡܰܪ ܩܰܝܣܳܐ ܕܠܺܝ ܘܳܝܠܺܝ ܘܡܘܽܢ ܓܰܕܫܰܢܝ ܃ ܕܰܥܠܰܝ ܨܰܠܒܘܽܗ̱ܝ ܠܗܰܘ ܡܳܪܳܐ ܕܒܶܪ̈ܝܳܬܳܐ ܃ ܕܰܒܡܶܛܪܳܐ ܘܰܒܛܰܐܠܳܐ ܪܰܒܝܰܝܢܝ ܃ ܘܰܗܘܺܝܬ ܠܶܗ ܦܳܪܘܽܥܳܐ ܒܺܝܫܳܐ ܃ ܠܺܝ ܛܘܽܒܰܝ ܕܰܛܥܶܢܬܶܗ ܃ ܘܳܝܳܐ ܛܳܒ ܠܨܳܠܘܽܒ̈ܰܘܗ̱ܝ ܀ |
| The Lord of creation stood in the tribunal, and the one who judges all was interrogated like a guilty person. It is astonishing that a lump of dirt sits on the bench and judges its Lord. Know yourself, wicked one, and fear him because he is the Judge. | ܩܳܡ ܒܶܝܬ ܕܺܝܢܳܐ ܗܰܘ ܡܳܪܳܐ ܕܒܶܪ̈ܝܳܬܳܐ ܃ ܘܰܐܝܟ ܚܰܝܳܒܳܐ ܐܶܫܬܰܐܰܠ ܕܳܐܶܢ ܟܽܠ ܃ ܕܘܽܡܳܪܰܐ ܗ̱ܘ ܕܝܳܬܶܒ ܩܘܽܠܳܥܳܐ ܃ ܥܰܠ ܒܺܐܡܰܐ ܘܰܠܡܳܪܶܗ ܕܳܐܶܢ ܕܰܥ ܢܰܦܫܳܟ ܥܰܘܳܠܳܐ ܃ ܘܙܘܽܥ ܡܶܢܶܗ ܕܕܰܝܳܢܰܐ ܗ̱ܘ ܀ |
| Justice, come and watch the tribunal. Why is the Blessed One dishonored? Because he made the water wine? Because he gave light to the blind who was in darkness?
